Doug's involvement in golf spans three decades. As a competitive player in the Eugene area, Doug became a standout for the University of Oregon, twice being named to the all PAC 10 team alongside contemporaries such as Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk and Casey Martin.

As a professional he has completed PGA training as well as becoming a Master level Golfing Machine instructor, a system used by dozens of top 100 instructors.
